Afghanistan scored 200 runs for all out in 47 overs. Samiullah Shinwari scored 49 run off 51 balls with 3- fours and 1- six included, Gulbadin Naib scored 47 runs off 75 balls with 3- fours included, Rahmat Shah scored 24 runs, Najibullah Zadran scored 23 runs and Asghar Afghan scored 20 runs.
Afghanistan’s 5 wickets were successfully claimed by Shakib Al Hasan for only 29 runs. With this, he became the first ever Bangladeshi to take 5 wickets in World Cups. This was Afghanistan’s best bowling figure in ODIs and best figure in World Cups. Mustafizur Rahman picked up 2 wickets, Mosaddek Hossain picked up 1 and Mohammad Saifuddin picked up 1 wicket.
Shakib Al Hasan became the player of the match for having scored 51 runs off 69 balls and 5 wickets picked.
