Three of England’s wickets were picked up by Gulbadin Naib and three were picked up by Dawlat Zadran.
Afghanistan failed to meet the target as they could only make 247 runs in 50 overs with 8 wickets down. Hashmatullah Shahidi scored 76 runs off 100 balls with 5- fours and 2- sixes included, Rahmat Shah scored scored 46 runs off 74 balls, Asghar Afghan scored 44 runs off 48 balls and Gulbadin Naib made 37 runs off 28 balls.
Jofra Archer and Adil Rashid each took two wickets. Mark Wood took two wickets.
The 150 runs victory of England was their third largest victory in terms of number of runs in World Cups and the biggest victory against Afghanistan.
Eoin Morgan became the Player of the match for his extraordinary performance of 148 runs off 71 balls with the strike rate of 208.5.
