It became the highest first-wicket partnership for India in World Cups and seventh-best stand at the opening. Likewise, Rishab Pant scored 48 runs off 41 balls with 6- fours and 1-six included, MS Dhoni scored 35 runs off 33 balls with 4- fours and Virat Kohli scored 26 runs.
Bangladesh’s Mustafizur Rahman picked up 5 wickets for only 59 runs in 10 overs with a maiden included, Soumya Sarkar picked 1 wicket, Shakib Al Hasan took 1 wicket and Rubel Hossain also took 1 wicket.
Bangladesh scored 286 runs for all out in 48 overs. Shakib Al Hasan became the top scorer as he made 66 runs off 74 balls with 6- fours included. Likewise, Mohammad Saifuddin scored 51 runs off 38 balls with 9- fours included. Sabbir Rahman scored 36 runs off 36 balls with 5- fours included; Soumya Sarkar made 33 runs off 38 balls with 4- fours included, Mushfiqur Rahim scored 24 runs and Tamim Iqbal made 22 runs.
Jasprit Bumrah successfully claimed 4 wickets for 55 runs in 10 overs with 1 maiden over included, Hardik Pandya picked up 3 wickets, Yuzvendra Chahal scored took 1, Bhuvneshwar Kumar picked up 1 and Mohammed Shahi took 1 wicket.
Rohit Sharma became the Player of the match for scoring 104 runs off 92 balls with 7- fours and 5- sixes included.
