The 29th match of ICC World Cup 2019 was played between New Zealand and West Indies at the Old Trafford Cricket Ground in one 22nd of June. West Indies won the toss and decided to bowl first.

New Zealand scored 291 runs in 50 overs with 8 wickets down. Kane Williamson became the top scorer with a score of 148 runs off 154 deliveries. This was his tenth highest score for New Zealand in ODIs and third-best score for New Zealand in the World Cups. It was his second World Cup hundred and 14th in ODIs.

Ross Taylor scored 69 runs off 95 balls with 7- fours included, James Neesham scored 28 runs, Colin de Grandhomme scored 16 runs and Tom Latham scored 12 runs.

Sheldon Cottrel picked up 4 of New Zealand’s wickets in 10 overs while maintaining a maiden, Carlos Braithwaite took 2 wickets and Chris Gayle took one.

West Indies scored 286 runs for all out in 49 overs. Carlos Brathwaite scored 101 runs off 82 balls. It was his first World Cup century. His strike rate was 123.17. Chris Gayle scored 87 runs off 84 balls with 8- fours and 6- sixes included, Shimron Hetmyer scored 54 runs off 45 balls with 8- fours and 1- six included and Sheldon Cottrel scored 15 runs. The match became very exciting as New Zealand secured a thrilling 5 run victory.

In the New Zealand side, Trent Boult succesfully claimed 4 for only 30 runs in 10 overs with one maiden included, Lockie Ferguson picked up 3 wickets, Colin de Grandhomme picked 1, James Neesham picked 1 and Matt Henry picked one too.

With his career best 148 runs off 154 deliveries with 14- fours and 1- six, Kane Williamson became the Player of the match.
