Sri Lanka scored 203 runs for all out in 49.3 overs. Avishka Fernando scored 29 runs off 30 balls with 4- fours included, Kushal Prera scored 30 runs off 34 balls with 4- fours included, Dhananjaya Silva de Silva scored 24 runs, Thisara Perera scored 21 runs and Jeevan Mendis scored 18 runs.

South Africa’s Chris Morris picked up 3 wickets, Dwaine Pretorius picked up 3 wickets, Kagiso Rabada took 2, Andile Phehlukwayo scored 1 and JP Duminy picked up 1.

South Africa comfortably made 206 runs in 37.2 overs with only one wicket down. Faf du Plessis became top scorer with the unbeaten streak of 96 runs off 103 balls with 10- fours and 1- six included. Hashim Amla secured an unbeaten streak of 80 runs off 105 with 5- fours included and Quinton de Kock made 15 runs.

Hashim Amla and Faf du Plessis’s 175 run partnership was the ninth highest joint second-wicket partnership for South Africa in the ODIS, highest second-wicket partnership for South Africa against Sri Lanka in ODIS and South Africa’s best second-wicket run record in the World Cups.

In the 5th ball of the 5th over, Lasith Malinga was able to pick up Quinton de Kock’s wicket.

Dwaine Pretorius became Player of the match for picking up 3 wickets for runs in 10 overs.
