Despite a quick fifty from Shardul Thakur before England 53 for lost three wickets on the opening day of the fourth Test match, Chris Woakes' four-for and Ollie Robinson's three-for kept India under equal grounds.

England takes a 99-run first-innings lead with fifty from Ollie Pope and Chris Woakes, before India's openers KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma get off to a solid start on day 2 of the fourth Test match.

India took a 171-run second-innings lead due to Rohit Sharma's first Test century away from home and Cheteshwar Pujara's half-century before play was stopped early on day 3 of the fourth Test match due to bad weather.

Lower-order batsmen Rishabh Pant and Shardul Thakur each scored half-centuries to help India set a target of 368 before England's openers Rory Burns and Haseeb Hameed got off to a solid start on day 4 of the fourth Test match.

India scored 191 for all-out in 61.3 overs, with Shardul Thakur top-scoring with 57 off 36 balls, including seven fours and three sixes and a strike rate of 158.33, Virat Kohli 50, and KL Rahul 17.

1st Innings: Chris Woakes, England's finest bowler, took 4-wickets for 55 runs in 15 overs, including six maidens, while Ollie Robinson took 3-wickets for 38 runs in 17 overs.

Ollie Pope (81), Chris Woakes (50), Jonny Bairstow (37), Moeen Ali (35), Dawid Malan (31), and Joe Root (21) led the England 1st Innings to a total of 290 for all-out in 84 overs.

Umesh Yadav, India's finest bowler, got three wickets in the first innings, Ravindra Jadeja and Jasprit Bumrah each took two wickets, while Mohammed Siraj And Shardul Thakur took one wicket.

India's second innings reached 466 for all-out in 148 overs, with Rohit Sharma leading the way with 127 off 256 balls, his eighth Test century and second century against England in Tests.

Cheteshwar Pujara scored 61, Shardul Thakur's 60, Rishabh Pant's 50, KL Rahul's 46, Virat Kohli 44, Umesh Yadav 25, Jasprit Bumrah 24 and Ravindra Jadeja 17.

In the second inning Chris Woakes, England's top bowler, took three wickets, Ollie Robinson and Moeen Ali each got two wickets, while Joe Root, Craig Overton, and James Anderson each took one wicket.

Haseeb Hameed top scored with 63, Rory Burns 50, Joe Root 36, and Chris Woakes 18. England 2nd Innings scored 210 for all-out in 92.2 overs.

In the second inning Umesh Yadav, India's top bowler, got three wickets, while Shardul Thakur, Jasprit Bumrah, and Ravindra Jadeja each took two.

Rohit Sharma was selected Player of the Match for his 127 runs off 256 balls, which included 14 fours and a six.
