Despite a fantastic fielding performance from Shreyas Iyer, Chennai Super Kings crushed Delhi Capitals by four wickets to reach the final for the ninth time in a close qualifier 1 match of the Indian Premier League.


DC scored 172-5 in 20 overs, with Prithvi Shaw leading the way with 60 off 34 balls, comprising seven fours and three sixes and a strike rate of 176.47.


Rishabh Pant hit an unbroken 51 off 35 balls with three fours and two sixes at a strike rate of 145.71, while Shimron Hetmyer hit a 37 off 24 balls with three fours and a six at a strike rate of 154.16.


Josh Hazlewood, CSK's top bowler, got two wickets, while Ravindra Jadeja, Moeen Ali, and Dwayne Bravo each took one wicket.


CSK chased 173-6 in 19.4 overs, with Ruturaj Gaikwad scoring 70, Robin Uthappa 63 off 44 balls with 7 fours and 2 sixes and a strike rate of 143.18, MS Dhoni 18 off 6 balls with 3 fours and a six, and a strike rate of 180, and Moeen Ali 16.


Tom Curran, DC's top bowler, grabbed three wickets for 29 runs in 3.4 overs, while Anrich Nortje and Avesh Khan both claimed one wicket. This is Chennai Super Kings' ninth portrayal in the IPL final.

Ruturaj Gaikwad and Robin Uthappa put on a 110-run second-wicket stand for Chennai Super Kings against Delhi Capitals in the Indian Premier League, breaking the previous record of 87 runs set by Faf du Plessis and Shane Watson in Sharjah last year. It was also CSK's seventh-highest second-wicket stand in the IPL.


Ruturaj Gaikwad named Player of the Match for his match-winning 70 runs off 50 balls, which included five fours and two sixes and a strike rate of 140.
